Welcome to NeuroLife Wife

Hi there!

We haven't met before, but you're about to learn a lot about me and what it's like to be a stay-at-home mom. Over the past 21 years of raising children, I’ve learned more than I ever expected about motherhood, health, and life itself. I have 2 girls and 2 boys ranging from 21 to 12 years old and they are all different.  Now, at 45, I think it’s the perfect time to share my hard-earned wisdom with moms who are looking for advice, support, and maybe a little bit of fun along the way.

When I became a mom, I was a total beginner—a baby mother, if you will. Is that a thing? I was the youngest in my family, had barely babysat, and while I thought babies were cute, I was clueless when it came to actually raising one. Taking care of another human being should be instinctual, right? Turns out, it requires a whole lot of brainpower.

Good thing I had a neuroscience degree!

Even with my background, I quickly realized that "Mommy College" was far tougher (and way longer) than earning my degree—but infinitely more rewarding.

Through this blog, I’ll be sharing golden nuggets of knowledge from my experience and things I wish someone had told me when I was in the thick of it. We’ll talk about:

The Human Body & Health – Because like it or not, moms are basically doctors. I once wanted to be a doctor, but I had children instead—so I got to take care of and learn about being a doctor and caring for someone when they weren't feeling well.  I got to skip setting bones and stitches, oh wait, no I actually did stitches and I relocated an shoulder.  I'll tell you about that later, ha!

Celebrating Life – We only get one, and so do our kids. Let’s make it count! As moms, we have the ability to create a world for ourselves and our children.  I’ll share tips on party planning, vacation ideas, and ways to stimulate our brains through engaging adventures, all while making memories and celebrating life with our families.

Mental Health & The Brain – Our brain shapes everything—our moods, our habits, our relationships, and our worlds. I’ve always been fascinated by how we create our own experiences, and I can’t wait to share insights that can make your life (and motherhood) easier and more fulfilling by taking care of our mental health and our families mental health.

I hope you’ll follow along, have fun, and maybe even learn a thing or two. Let’s make this motherhood journey a little smarter, healthier, and a whole lot more joyful.

(Side note, if you're a dad, you can learn and do all of the things I will be talking about.  I will be coming at it from the mom angle because I am one, and it's just easier to talk about my experiences that way.  But, you can also create a wonderful life for your family and learn a thing or two from me.)
